Students' Union & Experience

Student Voice & Experience

UCWISE has an international community of friendly staff and students. An exciting place to study, where students are united by their passion, creativity and achievements.

You at the heart of UCWISE

At UCWISE, we understand that starting university can be a daunting time for many, so to put your mind at rest our Student Experience team will be on hand throughout the year to ensure you get the very best out of studying with us.

Because of our small class sizes and student-focused culture, we are able to offer an exceptional student experience. This is reflected in our rating of 85% for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (2021) – securing first place in Bristol and third in the South West of England.

Student Representatives

We engage with our student voice through elected Student Representatives, which ensures we hear your views and interests. You can volunteer to become a Student Representative each academic year, and students on each course can then vote for who will represent them. Our students’ academic and social interests are at the heart of everything we do and we want you to be fully involved in both your course and UCWISE.

You may want to consider standing for election as a Student Representative. It looks great on your CV! It will give you an interesting insight on how your course is run and the many processes which go on behind the scenes to maintain the student experience. From the elected Student Representatives, two Lead Student Representatives are appointed each year.

Our Student Ambassadors are loud and proud!
These paid positions help to promote UCWISE at our events on and off campus.

Your Experience

Module Evaluations
At the end of every module, we ask our students to give us direct feedback about what worked well and whether anything didn’t work so well. We work to address any concerns raised and engage constructively with all of our students’ opinions on their programme. This is just one of the ways that we ensure that you, the student, are at the heart of everything we do.

At UCWISE, we celebrate the success of our completing students in style; our graduation venues have included Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire Cathedral, De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel and the Bristol Concorde Aerospace Museum. If you enrol on a course validated by the University of Gloucestershire, you will also be invited to attend the University’s annual graduation ceremony.
